Board your overnight flight to Lisbon, Portugal.

Day 2 ARRIVE IN LISBON
Arrive in Lisbon and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day and evening is free to explore on your own. (B) Day 3 LISBON One of Europe's most beautiful cities, Lisbon sprawls across several hills along the Tagus River. Your city tour includes a stop at Belem Tower and a visit to the spectacular 16th-century Jeronimos Monastery. (B)

Day 4 LISBON
Enjoy an excursion to Serra de Sintra, former home of the Portuguese royal family, one of the most picturesque mountain villages in Portugal and a source of inspiration for generations of poets. You will have a guided tour of the Pena National Palace, a fairy tale castle from Portugal's Romantic period, situated high up on a rocky peak. (B)

Day 5 LISBON - FATIMA - PORTO - EMBARKATION
Today you will leave Lisbon behind and be transferred to Fatima, a town renowned for its Basilica shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Explore the town and enjoy lunch on your own before continuing on to Porto to board your ship. This evening, meet your fellow passengers at the Welcome Dinner. The ship moors overnight in Porto. Day 6 PORTO
Your sightseeing tour of Porto reveals 16th century arcaded buildings, Baroque churches and the magnificent iron bridge built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel. You will also have a chance to see the elegant residential section along the Atlantic coast. Enjoy some free time to explore the Old City on your own. For some modern culture, you may want to head to the Boavista area, where you will find the Casa da Musica and the museum of Modern Art. The ship moors overnight in Porto. (B,L,D)

Day 7 PORTO - ENTRE-OS-RIOS
This morning take an excursion to Guimaraes, one of the most historic towns in Portugal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy some scenic cruising through the Douro valley on your way to Entre-Os-Rios. This evening savor a glass of Port wine and take in the breathtaking view of the river valley from the terrace of the 14th century Alpendurada Monastery, where you will be served dinner. Day 8 CALDAS DE AREGOS - REGUA
This morning enjoy an excursion to the historic town of Resende. Early this afternoon, your ship departs for Regua, arriving around dinner time. (B,L,D)

Day 9 REGUA - PINHAO
This morning, you will have an excursion to ancient and picturesque Lamego, home to one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Portugal, the Nossa Senhora dos Remedios (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies). Other attractions include a Gothic cathedral, a museum, and charming cafes. This afternoon, enjoy the wild, rugged scenery as your ship cruises through the dramatic gorges of the Douro river valley. Tonight, enjoy dinner at Quinta Avessada. (B,L,D)

Day 10 PINHAO
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the palace and gardens known as the Palacio de Mateus, located in the beautiful region of Tras-os-Montes near the city of Vila Real. Later, enjoy some free time to explore at your leisure in Pinhao. Your ship moors in Pinhao overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 11 BARCA D'ALVA
This morning, take in the sites along the valley as you cruise from Pinhao to Barca D'Alva. In the afternoon you will visit Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, a fortified 16th century village perched high on a hilltop with many steep, narrow streets. Be sure to stop in the market square to admire the Chafariz dos Pretos, a striking fountain decorated with black faces. The ship arrives in Vega Terron later this evening, where it will moor overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 12 BARCA D'ALVA - VEGA TERRON, SPAIN - DISEMBARKATION - SALAMANCA - MADRID
You will disembark your ship and have a full-day tour of Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the center of Spain's Castilla y Leon region. Your guided city tour includes the university buildings, the 12th century Romanesque church of San Martin, the House of Shells, and a lunch featuring authentic Spanish cuisine at a local restaurant. Today you will have a guided tour of Madrid, the capital and largest city in Spain. Today, you'll take an excursion to the walled city of Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient capital of Spain. Populated since pre-Roman times, its landmarks include the Alcazar, Cathedral of Toledo and the El Greco Museum. (B)

Day 4 MADRID
You'll have an excursion today to the walled city of Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the ancient capital of Spain. The city is a treasure trove of artistic riches that once inspired Spanish Renaissance artist El Greco, with its winding streets and well-preserved medieval architecture. We will stop to taste some of the area's freshly harvested produce. Rejoin the ship in Barca d' Alva and enjoy lunch on board before departing early this afternoon for Pinhao. After arriving this evening, you will be treated to Moscatel de Favaios (a sweet fortified wine) and traditional Portuguese foods at a wine estate, Quinta Avessada.
