ANCOLUTHE ITINERARIES
This vessel will operate 2 different itineraries , taking in Normandy and Picardy, Both are equally interesting and charming. The Picardy route is very suitable for golf with the finest courses in France situated along the cruise route including St Nom La Breteche, Chantilly etc. We can operate golf cruises on charters or groups of 30 or more. The Normandy route is wonderful for the Impressionists and for painting groups. The Anacoluthe is a delightful and very comfortable vessel with lots of public space, fitness room jacuzzi and a delighful large sundeck to take in all the views along the rivers.

The Anacoluthe includes private coach transfers from Paris to the barge. It is included in the price of the cruise. Baggage is handled from the Hotel Regina to your cabin onboard the barge.

ANCOLUTHE ITINERARIES - FROM ST.MAMMES - ROUEN

SATURDAY
ST MAMMES

We meet at the Hotel Regina, 192 Rue de Rivoli, Paris 75001 at 15.00 (3pm) and transfer to Anacoluthe moored in the small town of St Mammes at the junction of the rivers Seine and Loing. After a champagne welcome aboard, you will have time to settle into your cabin and perhaps take a stroll before dinner, in town or in Moret sur Loing (3 kms with our bus) a small medieval town, once home to Alfred Sisley, the impressionist painter.

SUNDAY
ST MAMMES-PARIS

Morning cruise on the Seine River.Beginning of afternoon excursion to Vaux le Vicomte, castle built by Fouquet, the finance minister of the Sun King and the model for Versailles. There is an exceptionally well furnished interior and magnificent gardens. Return to Anacoluthe at Evry, and cruise to enter Paris at dinner time. After dinner on board, an unforgettable Paris by Night cruise.

MONDAY
PARIS-CHATOU

Morning coach tour of Paris. Then we cruise to Chatou In the afternoon, a visit to La Malmaison castle and walking tour in town.(Rueil).La Malmaison, was the home of Empress Josephine and on occasions, Napoleon himself. After her divorce from the Emporer, Josephine retired to Malmaison in 1810 The First Consul and the seat of the French Government in conjunction with the Tuileries also resided here from 1800 to 1802 This chateau is situated in one of the loveliest settings in France.

TUESDAY
CHATOU-VERNON

Cruise to Mantes, arriving midday and visit to Giverny, the home and gardens of Claude Monet, the most famous of all the Impressionist painters. Discover the inspiration for his masterpiece « The Water Lillies », see the Japanese Bridge. The French government spends in excess of $2 million each year to keep the gardens exactly as they were before Monet dies in 1926. The simplicity of his house is surprising.
Return to the boat moored in Vernon, gateway to Normandy, late afternoon. Vernon is a delightful town with a medieval center.

WEDNSESDAY
VERNON-POSES

This morning, cruise from Vernon to Les Andelys, with its famous Château Gaillard. After a brunch on board, excursion to the charming city of Honfleur,. Walking tour of the harbour, and picturesque streets. Return to the boat going over both the Normandie and Tancarville bridges. Rejoin the boat in Les Andelys with a welcome back tasting of cider, and late afternoon cruise to Poses.

THURSDAY
POSES-ROUEN

Morning cruise to Rouen, Capital of Normandy. In the afternoon, walking visit of the city, cathedral Notre Dame, a gothic masterpiece, see the Palais de Justice once Normandie’s parliament.and the medieval center/shopping, and return to the boat late afternoon.
This evening will be our farewell gala dinner.

FRIDAY
ROUEN

After breakfast, return to the Hotel Regina in Paris, arriving before noon.

SATURDAY
ROUEN

We meet at the Hotel Regina, 192 Rue de Rivoli, Paris 75001 at 15.00 (3pm) and transfer to Anacoluthe moored in Rouen, Capital City of Normandy. The boat is moored on the Seine river, close to the city center.

SUNDAY
ROUEN-POSES

Morning guided walking tour of Rouen, visit the medieval center including the cathedral and ancient quarter with fine examples of half timbered buildings, typical of the Normandy architecture. There is time for shopping before you rejoin the boat. All afternoon upstream cruise to the first lock on the river from the sea at Poses, our mooring for tonight.

MONDAY
POSES-VERNON

Morning cruise to Les Andelys nicely situated in a meander of the Seine river, and next to the famous ruins of Château Gaillard. After a Brunch on board we will board the coach for an excursion to the charming city of Honfleur. Walking tour of the harbour, and picturesque streets. Return to the boat passing over both the Normandy and Tancarville bridges. Welcome back on board with a tasting of cider, and cruise to Vernon.

TUESDAY
VERNON-CHATOU

An early start for the short ride to Giverny, home to Claude Monet for over 40 years. We visit the house and gardens which inspired such masterpieces as “The Water Lillies” and see the Japanese Bridge that he painted. This afternoon, we cruise to Chatou, a delightful riverside town.

WEDNESDAY
CHATOU-PARIS

There is a very short distance to visit la Malmaison, home of Josephine de Beauharnais, the first wife of Napoleon 1st where we can see lots of memorabilia from this Imperial couple’s daily life. We then stroll through the center of Rueil, an ideal place for shopping with some exclusive boutiques; Cruise to Paris. for a memorable cruise of Paris illuminated. Overnight in Paris.

THURSDAY
PARIS/STMAMMES
