Welcome
Aboard the Fandango & Tango, two of France's most
authentic and beautiful boutique hotel barges. Owner
operated, we guarantee an exclusive and unforgettable
vacation for your group of 4 to 12. Our cruises float
through the Languedoc, one of Southern France's most
fascinating regions, recently dubbed "the next Provence." Our
waterway is the picture-perfect 300 year old Canal du
Midi, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered
to be the prettiest canal in France.
Fandango and Tango are famous for the beautiful décor and fine
gourmet cuisine and wine served on board. Featured in such publications
as 'Bon Appetit', 'Travel & Leisure' and 'Food and Wine', our vessels
are one of the best ways to sample local delicacies of Southern France,
both on board and at local restaurants, a unique feature of the cruise
program.
A
barge cruise on Fandango or Tango means relaxed luxury
plus a chance for up-close contact to a stimulating local
culture. Each day will be a flowing experience of cruising
for a few hours and enjoying a daily sightseeing excursion
in our air-conditioned mini-van. This can be to visit
local sites of historic or cultural interest, shop at
open air markets, enjoy winetastings and the olives from
the prize winning olive oil mill, l'Oulibo. While the
barge cruises at a leisurely pace you can walk alongside,
ride a bicycle into the countryside or simply put your
feet up on our provencal tiled decks while the chef prepares
your next delicious meal. An English-speaking crew of
four pampers you the week long.
Our
cruising area, the Languedoc, is one of the most interesting
areas of Southern France. In recent years the U.S.travel
press has dubbed it "the next Provence," as
Languedoc offers all the elegance and poetry of that
famous region but without the crowds. Our US office is
expert in helping you plan a barge cruise, travel to
Southern France and the area of Languedoc. Not only do
we help you arrange your travel to and from the cruising
area, we can suggest pre and post-cruise itineraries,
advise you on French train travel or even help you arrange
your stay in Paris.
We
know you have a choice when you book your vacation. While
we are an owner-operated set of small luxury hotel barge,
we can also offer you some of the same services of a
full-fledged travel agency. Moreover, we know France
and our cruising area in detail and can direct you to
some of the area's most interesting features. Indeed,
we can usually even tell you the market day of a town
you might be thinking of visiting! When you book a cruise
through us, our trip-planning services include
