Wedding Licence Information |
| A
completed "Intent to Marry" (Form 13) must be
submitted to the celebrant not less than one month and one
day, and not more than six months and one day prior to the
ceremony. The form can be obtained through the celebrant,
the Queensland Justice Department or through the Magistrate
of a local Queensland Court House. It is the celebrant's
responsibility to ensure all documents are completed and
lodged. Full details are available on application. As a
guide only, the following documents are required. A full
birth certificate including an English translation if in
a foreign language. Non Australian citizens can substitute
their birth certificates for their passport when accompanied
by a Statutory Declaration, which can be co-signed by the
celebrant. Previously married persons must provide a copy
of the Decree Absolute or Death Certificate. A Naturalised
Australian must provide proof of Australian citizenship.
