DAY
9 (FR): ASWAN – CAIRO
DISEMBARKATION
The morning is free to give you time to explore Aswan or to take
the optional air excursion to the fantastic Temples of Abu Simbel.
More than 32 centuries ago, Ramses II built 2 temples into the
sheer rock of a premonitory in Nubia 280 km south of Aswan. The
larger Temple was dedicated to the God of Sun – Harakhti.
The lesser Temple was dedicated to the Goddess Hathor in the name
of Ramses’ favorite wife – the beautiful Queen Nefertari.
When the construction of the High Dam threatened to submerge the
two Temples, the Temples were cut into 30 ton pieces, moved 70
meters higher and 180 meters further inland and rebuilt to their
original splendor. The tour of these unique temples includes a
30 minute plane ride from Aswan and back offering stunning aerial
views of the Temples and the flowing Nile. Then its time to bid
your crew goodbye as you transfer to the airport for your flight
back to Cairo. On arrival, transfer to your Deluxe hotel (Sheraton
or similar) and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. (B)
DAY 10 (SA): CAIRO
Start your full day of sightseeing with the magnificent Pyramids
of Giza. Built around 2690 B.C. the Pyramids and the Sphinx are
rightfully considered one of the 7 Wonders of the World. After
a break for lunch, return to the city to tour the fabulous Egyptian
Museum home the priceless treasures of Tut-an-Khamun. End the
day with free time to explore the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar,
where you can bargain for those last minute souvenirs. Return
to your hotel at your leisure – dinner is on your own.
(B, L)

short distance of many of Cairo's attractions as well as excellent
shopping and dining. (B)
